Thirza Vallois has lived in Paris for 40 years.
She holds several post-graduate degrees from the Sorbonne, including the most prestigious agrégation. Her Around and About Paris series, first published in 1995 after eight years of intensive research, has been universally acclaimed as the most authoritative and in-depth travel companion ever written on Paris. She has ploughed through the city's every street, has read every book of note about it, has interviewed many old-timers, and has never left a stone unturned. Acknowledged worldwide as a Paris expert, Thirza Vallois is invited to lecture throughout the world and contributes to various publications, as well as to television and radio. She has appeared on BBC, PBS, the Travel Channel, CNN, Discovery, the French Cultural Channel, and scores of radio stations throughout the US and Britain. She is the author of Three Perfect Days in Paris, aired on United Airlines and published in their inflight magazine, Hemisphere, and has written the Paris entry for the 2002 edition of Encarta Encyclopaedia. Romantic Paris, her newest title, just off the shelf in Paris and online, has already been acclaimed by a Paris publication as "her best book yet". Official date of publication is Valentine Day 2003, although it is already available on line or through your local bookstore. Thirza Vallois now "commutes" between Paris and London and is working on another book.
